Schiaparelli being lifted for mating with the ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter

Schiaparelli, also known as the ExoMars Entry, descent and landing Demonstrator Module (EDM), being craned into position for mating with the Trace Gas Orbiter (TGO) in the Cannes facility of Thales Alenia Space (France) on 11 April 2015. Schiaparelli has been lifted off of its ground handling trolley using a special lifting rig attached to an overhead crane. Once it has been positioned on top of the TGO, Schiaparelli, with the already installed main separation assembly (MSA), will be bolted to the orbiter interface ring.
