A pre-engineering qualification model of the ExoMars rover drill shown connected to the drill electronic unit during testing.
The drill was attached to a static frame to perform a complete chain of functional activities, including the assembly and disassembly of the drill tool and three extension rods. An initial version of the control software was used.
A series of tests is planned, leading to the manufacture of the drill's qualification model in 2013.
