The photos show an EDM Thermal Protection System (TPS) sample before (left) and after (right) plasma wind tunnel tests at Astrium’s Simoun facility.

TPS tests conducted in January 2011 demonstrated that the selected materials (tiles and filler for the inter-tiles joints) were suitable for the EDM.
