Assembly of drill extension rods

This video shows the ExoMars rover drill during laboratory tests carried out in summer 2012.
The drill extension rod is assembled into the drill string, until it reaches the end position at a depth of 2 metres. (The video speed has been increased to allow all the functions to be shown in a short clip.)
This functional testing demonstrated the successful completion of the drilling sequence; it is one of a series of tests leading to the manufacture of the drill's qualification model in 2013.
