Animation visualising the ExoMars entry, descent and landing demonstrator module, Schiaparelli, approaching Mars after separating from the Trace Gas Orbiter (TGO). The separation occurred on 16 October 2016, about seven months after launch. Schiaparelli entered the martian atmosphere on 19 October, while TGO entered orbit around Mars.
