ExoMars rover - front view
The 2020 mission of the ExoMars programme will deliver a European rover and a Russian surface platform to the surface of Mars. This image shows the rover viewed from the side.
ESA's rover will be the first capable of drilling 2 m into Mars, where ancient biomarkers may still be preserved from the harsh radiation environment on the surface. The drill is shown here in a horizontal position.
ExoMars is a joint endeavour between ESA and Roscosmos, with important contribution from NASA.
